Andrew McRae, 4th Prize at the Student Oral Competition at the 2013 CAP Congress

Congratulations to Andrew McRae, graduate student working with Dr. Alexandre Champagne, who won the 4th prize in the Student Oral Competition at the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) Congress! Andrews talk was entitled "Electromechanical coupling and the Kondo effect in ultra-short carbon nanotube quantum dots".

Prof. Alexandre Champagne appointed Concordia Research Chair (Tier 2)

Prof. Alexandre Champagne of the Department of Physics has been appointed Concordia University Research Chair (Tier 2) in Nanophysics for a five-year term from June 1st 2012 to May 31st, 2017. The CURC focus will be on nanoelectronics and quantum materials where one makes use of the wave properties (quantum physics) of matter to understand and create new ways to control energy and information, and connects quantum chemistry to nanoscale engineering.
